The forecasts are excellent brilliant for outdoor users. You can get forecasts for four mountain regions at present. They are part of an on-going trial, the aim of which is to provide detailed mountain weather forecasts, on the grounds of mountain safety, in a format suitable for use by as wide a range of people as possible. The aim of this trial is to attract funding and sponsorship to develop what might be called 'The Mountain Weather Information Service'. Eastern Highlands | Western Highlands | Lake District | Peak District Limitations of the present trialAt present, we cannot guarantee amendments should the forecast change. Within Scotland, the present divisions between west and east are far too large. We are not providing forecasts for Snowdonia. What they would like you to do:If you are a mountain-interested organisation, please feel free to copy these forecasts and make available to as many as people as possible. If you have a web-site, please copy, and post them up or provide links to the forecasts. Please register your interest in the service - this may well be vitally important in discussions on funding.
